EASTER MESSAGE
To the Officers and Sir Knights of the Constituent Commanderies of Knights Templar of West Virginia, Greetings:
Father, forgive them.
He is risen.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.
Even as he hung, bleeding and in agony on the cross, Christ begged our heavenly Father to forgive those who had placed him in that position. On the third day he arose from the grave and met with his disciples.
After meeting with his disciples, he ascended into heaven directing them to go forth into the world teaching his message of love, despite that pain and agony the world had caused him.
What greater anguish can those around us cause us than what was caused Christ. Yet, even after experiencing the pains of death Christ returned to direct his followers to preach his lessons of love to all the world.
Can we as Templars not endeavor to do as much to remember to love those around us, to love those who persecute us and to ask HIS forgiveness when we fail to do so?
May the love of Christ and of the Father be acknowledged by each of you during the Lenten season.
Given under my hand and the seal of the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of West Virginia this 5th day of February A.D. 2007, A.O. 889.
Fraternally,
G. Butler Adkins
Grand Commander
Grand Prelate's Easter Message
THE STONE WAS ROLLED AWAY"
Then it happened. Just like the birth of a child. 'You've waited.
You've been anxious. You've wondered. You've been in awe of the process. But when it all starts happening, there's no stopping. It's all so fast. Maybe that's what it was like. John records that Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and found the stone rolled away. She ran to Peter and John, her facts right but her conclusion wrong. "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" They all ran toward the tomb, saw the burial clothes and John
went inside. It was all beginning to hit home. They went home to discuss these events, but not Mary. She wept by the tomb telling a stranger "They have taken my Lord away, and I don't know where they have put Him
" The Stranger spoke, and how I would love to have heard the way He spoke: "Mary." She then knew that he was no stranger, no gardener, no tender of the earth. In a rush of dynamic reality, she knew she was speaking to the Resurrection. This woman of faith went to the disciples with the gripping message, an intriguing testimony, a dawning utterance of the gospel, "I HAVE SEEN THE LORD!"
