Florida Sir Knight Wins Handmade, One-of-a-Kind, Masonic, Quilt

Some time ago Knight Templar ran an announcement of a raffle of a Masonic quilt, shown left, by Sherwood Lodge No. 421 01 Michigan. We have received word of the winner.
Sir Knight Daniel A. Gastineau writes: "Sir Knight Kent Stoneman, 5200 N.E. 24th Terrace, Apt. 208, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308, was the winner. He resides 6 months in Florida and 6 months in Barre Town, Vermont. He is a Past Master of Granite Lodge No. 35, a District Deputy Grand Master in 1992 and 1993, and is a member of the Scottish Rite, the Shrine, and the Royal Order of Scotland. He is a very active Brother in all our fraternities. We don't feel there could be a more deserving winner!"


LA CROSSE COMMANDERY, WISCONSIN, KNIGHTS TWO

La Crosse Commandery's two newest Sir Knights, Bruce Klubertanz on left and Jesse Chariton on right, flank Sir Knight Lawrence Catellier, R.E.G.C. of the Grand Commandery of , Wisconsin, at the Commandery's annual Homecoming and Inspection. This year's event was a joint inspection with Eau Claire No.8 and Tancred No. 27 Commanderies. In addition to R.E.G.C. Catellier, the Commanderies were pleased to have five Past Grand Commanders of Wisconsin participating: Sir Knights Joseph Horton, 1977; Harley Hogstrom, 1983; Burnell Roble, 1993; Frank Vreeland, 2000; and Fred Roycraft, 2006.Following a great afternoon of Order conferral, Templar tactics, and fraternal fellowship; the day concluded with a delicious banquet prepared and served by the ladies of La Crosse Commandery Auxiliary. MASSACHUSETTS SIR KNIGHT HONORED BY THE TENNIS HALL OF FAME

On October 20, 2007, at the Annual Conclave of the Grand Commandery of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Knights Templar, which was held in Hyannis, Massachusetts; Sir Knight Russell Hayward Adams,a 40-year member of MetroNorth Commandery No. 20, Melrose, Massachusetts, was honored with the Knight Commander of the Temple award. In the picture Sir Knight John M. Lewis (right), Right Eminent Department Commader, Northeastern Department of the Grand Encampment, presents the award, as Lady Betty Joe Adams looks on.
On July 14, 2007, Sir Knight Adams was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport, Rhode Island, along with "Pete" Sampras, Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, and Sven Davidson.
Sir Knight Adams has spent the last 50 years visually documenting the history of tennis. He has photographed the Grand Slam Tournaments and all Knight Templar tournaments around the world including Fed Cup, Davis Cup, and the Olympics. JACKSONVILLE NO. 220, S.0.0.B., PRESENTS CHECK TO COMMANDERY

Jacksonville Assembly No. 220, Social. Order of the Beauceant of Jacksonville, Florida, presented a check for $500 to Damascus Commandery NO.2 at its stated Conclave in December 2007. The check is to assist the Commandery and other York Rite bodies with expenses, including increased insurance costs for the current year. The Assembly has worked hand-in-hand with the Commandery and other York Rite bodies to promote Masonry and York Rite in the area.

The Tree of Templary Grows from our Roots in Royal Arch Masonry

Companion and Sir Knight William Henry Thornley, Jr., Most Eminent Past Grand Master of the Grand Encampment, was installed as Most Excellent High Priest of Hebron Royal Arch Chapter No. 272 in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania.
Companion and Sir Knight William Henry Thornley, Jr., was Most Excellent High Priest of his Colorado Chapter in 1960 and served as Grand High Priest of Colorado in 1966. In his Masonic career he achieved the most respected rank of M.E. Grand Master of the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar of the United States of America, 1988-1991.
Not many men can say they served as Most Excellent High Priest of two different Chapters in two different Jurisdictions in two different centuries and also achieved the highest rank in the Grand Encampment!
