| Agreeably to the above Call, a Convention of Sir Knights was held at the hall of Detroit Commandery, No. 1, in the City of Detroit, on Thursday evening, January 15th, 1857, at 7 o'clock -- present the following Sir Knights:

| Sir Knight John Gilbert, Jr., was called to the Chair; and, on motion, Sir James Darrah was appointed Secretary.
|
| On motion, each Commandery was declared to be entitled to three votes.
|
| The object of the Convention was then stated by the Chair, to be for the purpose of taking the necessary steps for the formation of a GRAND COMMANDERY.
|
| On motion of Sir Knight N.P. Jacobs, a Committee of three was appointed to draft the Statutes and Regulations for a Grand Commandery.
|
| The Chair appointed Sir Knight Jacokes, Darrah, and Cone, as such Committee.
|
| On motion, Sir Knight Jacokes was, by his own urgent request, excused from serving on said Committee, and Sir Knight Roberts appointed in his place.
|
| On motion, the Convention then proceeded to an Informal ballot for officers; Sir Knights Roberts and Innes acting as Tellers
|
| The following Sir Knights were nominated as officers, on said ballot:

| On motion, Sir John Gilbert, Jr., was authorized, on receipt of the necessary documents from the Grand Master, to call a Convention for the purpose of organizing a Grand Commandery, and also that he forward a petition for a dispensation.

| On motion, a copy of the foregoing proceedings was ordered to be made for the benefit of each Commandery in the State; the same to be signed by the officers of the Convention, and sent them.
|
| The Convention then adjourned.
