Ritual and tactics are an inherent part of Templary. The striking uniform, sword and chapeau, once the face of freemasonry, should be instantly recognizable to every man and Mason and all who wear it should do so with respect, knowledge of the ritual and proficiency of the tactics. Every Commandery should encourage at least one member to be proficient in the Order of the Red Cross, one in the Order of Malta and one in the Order of the Temple. And each should work towards becoming a Certified Instructor. The process of becoming a Certified Instructor is no simple task, but should not be shied away from. Just like the coaching we are all accustomed to, it is the continued opportunity to work with a mentor to exercise the mind, enjoy fraternal comradery and gain a more thorough understanding of the lessons of this valiant and magnanimous order.
The Certified Instructor Forms may be downloaded here RED CROSS - MALTA - TEMPLE.
The Ritual and Tactics Committee will permit an applicant to certify for the Illustrious Order of the Red Cross, the Order of Malta, and the Order of the Temple, separately and in any sequence, provided that each of the requirements are accordingly met. Using the Certified Instructors Forms as a checklist the Certified Instructor/Inspector or Certified Instructor should place his initials on the form as the Applicant completes each of the requirements.
After a Certified Instructor's Form is completed it is mailed or e-mailed to the Chairman of the Ritual and Tactics Committee for the preparation of the Certificate and jewel.
The Certificate will be signed by the Grand Commander and presented to the Applicant along with the jewel.
The Certificate issued shall show the date on which the certificate was made for each Order. Such certificate shall expire five years after date shown, renewable by a complete re-certification only.
