Supreme Worthy President
Mrs. John A. (Mary Ann) Brogan
San Antonio No. 159, TX

    October 1, 2011
    My Dear Beauceant Sisters,
Few occasions in our lives cause an overwhelming sense of awe and humility to last and be felt for a lifetime.  Being installed as the ninety-first Supreme Worthy President of our beautiful Order is one such occasion for me.  I am in awe of the dedication of my Beauceant sisters who labor tirelessly to further the good work of our Order and I am humbled to lead such a devoted, caring group of ladies.
My theme to guide us this year is Faith, Family, Friends.  Our faith unites us as Christian sisters; our family relations pave our membership into this Order where we are bound to our friends in love and fellowship.
My Scriptures are:  John 8: 12 "Jesus …said I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." And one of my favorite verses, Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."  I believe there is nothing that happens to us, not a single thing that we see, hear or touch that God cannot use to show us more of Himself.
My foliage is the green ivy and the dogwood blossom.  The ivy was the design on my Mother's pottery, and it reminds me of the family meals together.  The legend of the dogwood tells a beautiful story of God's grace and mercy for those who believe in Him.  My color is nature's green, a reminder of life and immortality.
The Knights Templar Eye Foundation (KTEF) is Beauceant's primary charitable organization.  Please continue to generously support this special cause of providing light through sight with honorariums, gifts, memorials and estate planning contributions.  If the eyes are a window to the soul, then the KTEF enables the craftsman to provide a noble view so that others may see.
My Sir Knight, John, and I are excited to travel together throughout most of my visits.  However, there will a few weeks in the spring [February 22 -March 17] when my mother, Mrs. James P. Davis, Past President of San Antonio #159, will accompany me.
Enclosed are two copies of my itinerary, one for the Recorder's desk and the other for the President serving during my year.  My picture is for the President.  I sincerely appreciate your cooperation and assistance in planning my itinerary; it is a challenge but your help and enthusiasm made the task lighter.
Recorders, please consult my Itinerary and send all correspondence in care of the President I will be visiting; allow at least ten (10) days for delivery  As a reminder, if you meet once a month, and have not already done so, you must request a dispensation for this year.
Again, my Sisters, thank you for this honor of serving the Supreme Assembly in this capacity and the opportunity to meet you in your home assembly to make even more lasting friendships.  I'll see you soon!
                                                            Fraternally and with love,

                                                            (Mrs. John A.) Mary Brogan
                                                            Supreme Worthy President
