SUPREME WORTHY PRESIDENT's MESSAGES

May 20, 2008
My Dear Beauceant Sisters,
Soon all trails will lead to Tampa.  I join the 2008 Hostess Group in extending to all a Welcome to our Eighty-Eighth Annual Supreme Assembly, Social Order of the Beauceant to be held at the Quorum Hotel in Tampa, Florida, September 21 thru 26, 2008.
It seems but yesterday that I assumed the honor and the responsibilities as your Supreme Worthy President.  The swiftness and the activities of the past year made me pause and re-count its blessings and accomplishments.
In sending this, my last Official Letter, may I again express my sincere appreciation to every member of our order for all the kindness and consideration shown to me.  The pleasant hours spent with you in your assembly rooms, the beautiful flowers and lovely gifts presented to me, the songs of love, the words of encouragement, the gracious hospitality of your homes and the many times we have gathered around the table of fellowship will be "Treasured Memories" I shall never forget.  I have "Cast my bread upon the waters and a tenfold blessing has come back to me".
I want to extend a very warm welcome to all our new Beauceant sisters who were initiated during my Official Visits to your assemblies.  I considered it an honor and privilege to be present when you took your obligation.
Thank you for your continued support of the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.  Your generous donations given in my honor are so special to me.
It is my happy privilege to extend to all a cordial invitation to attend Supreme Assembly, where we may set aside the cares of the world and meet together for inspiration, courage, and hope where we may receive an inspiration to follow more closely the beautiful teachings, purposes and principles of our beloved order.
The week begins on Sunday evening, September 21, 2008, with the Vesper Service and what a more appropriate way to prepare our hearts and minds for the busy week ahead. The Hostess Committees have planned tours and many activities for our members and their Sir Knights.  They have all worked  so well and should be commended for their labor of love in providing for our enjoyment.
Tuesday evenings Reception for the Supreme Officers, Past Supreme Worthy Presidents and Supreme Committee Members is open to everyone and you are encouraged be present to see the members who have served this year be introduced.
Wednesday's School of Instruction promises to be both instructional and interesting, as the Supreme Ritual committee will demonstrate the ritualistic work.  Be there and learn for this is so important for all of us.  Wednesday evening will be the Annual Banquet held for all sisters and Sir Knights.  It is a formal affair and I know you will enjoy being "Cinderella for a night" as well as I do.  Let's make it a fun night!
Thursday and Friday will be the business meetings.  Please attend and listen to the reports given by each Supreme Committee Chairman to become aware of the operation of your Order.
Friday evening's Installation and Reception for the new Officers is open to everyone.  This is a special night for the new officers.
All Supreme Officers, Past Supreme Worthy Presidents and Supreme Committee Members are requested to wear long dresses for both the Tuesday and Wednesday evening events as are the Worthy Presidents of the Chartered Assemblies, when they are introduced and escorted across the East at our opening session on Thursday morning.  As the formal opening does not start until 10:00 AM on Thursday, there will be plenty of time for the Worthy Presidents to change after breakfast.  There will be chairs reserved on the front rows for the Presidents.
Supreme Officers and Supreme Committee Members, if you find that you will be unable to attend Supreme Assembly, please notify me immediately by my cell phone 409 284-8670.
Remember that dues cards, credentials, and mileage cards for those eligible, must be properly filled out by the assembly Recorder, sealed and available at the time of registration.  Mileage cards must be filed with the Supreme Mileage Committee no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 25, 2008.

RECORDERS REMINDERS:  (1) All used dispensations that have not been returned should be sent to me immediately.  Remember to seal them.  (2) All twenty-five (25) year Membership Citation forms need to be sent to me at this time.  (3) Plan to attend the Recorders' School to be held by Mrs. Brown, Supreme Recorder on Wednesday from 3:00 to 3:30 pm.  Bring your Recorder's Manual, writing materials and any questions that you need answered.
My journey is about over as the Supreme Worthy President, but my memories will last my lifetime.  I have seen you: Wait upon the Lord and renew your strength.  I have watched you mount up with wings like eagles. I have witnessed your running and not being weary - walking and not being faint.  This year, as you have soared as Eagles, God has Blessed our Order.
I love you all and truly appreciate the "Honor to Serve".

With Beauceant Love,
Mrs. Jeanette Rife
Supreme Worthy President

My Dear Beauceant Sisters,
How often do we hear around this time of the year, "It will soon be Easter".  How do we know?  It is a certain date on the calendar? Does it come suddenly and leave just as quickly?  Is it a time set up by man or is it the miracle of the slow but sure growth of nature being reflected in our hearts?
We begin to be aware of this magic long before Easter arrives, for we notice the trees beginning to bud, the bulbs in the garden blooming, the grass turning from brown to green, the earth getting warm, and the singing birds.
As the day comes closer, we plan for new wardrobes; we begin to think of the family getting together for an early breakfast.  On this day we know the whole family will go to church.  There will even be a festive air about the sanctuary when we arrive.  We color eggs and hide the candy rabbits.
What is this Easter?
It is more than an event in the changing of seasons.  It is more than a day for family gatherings, or for meeting of friends.  It is even more than merely going to church though the church can help us find the meaning of this sacred day.
Easter is God's day…..  God's love is revealed to us at its fullest when "He so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."  How much suffering it must have been to God, who knows even when the sparrows fall, to see his only Son crucified.  Yet he loved us that much.  But we know that the crucifixion was not the end of life.  Easter is the proof that love can never be permanently crucified but will ultimately triumph over all.  Easter is the assurance that what we call death is not the end of life.  Easter is the promise of immortality.  Easter is a glimpse of God's plan for our eternal fellowship with him.  May the Easter season see this fulfillment of faith, hope and eternal love in your hearts.

With Beauceant Love,

My Dear Sisters,

When Christmas ornaments are all in place,
When a Christmas smile lights every face,
When carolers sing, when friends have meetings
Then it's time to exchange the Season's greetings

And now, again, comes the ever-recurring miracle of Christmas. What things there are to say if our full hearts could only say them! During the next few weeks you will probably repeat "Merry Christmas" dozens of times. If it comes from the depths of your heart, if it has the ring of truth in it, you will do more than you realize to bring the Christmas message of peace to all you meet. Jesus gave us peace at his birth. He was  born the Prince of Peace. At His Resurrection He left us peace in His message........."Peace be unto you". Let us help keep this peace..
My Christmas message to you is this; I hope your fruitcake came out all right and your candy hardened so you don't have to eat it with a spoon. I hope nobody got a cold this year and that the turkey is tender and the appetites hearty. I hope the night is struck with star shine and the day is mellow with sunlight and the mistletoe hangs high. And may you all be gathered together this Christmas in the warm glow of intimate affection with those you love best; and wherever you travel "May a star lead you, the wind be at your back, the road rise to meet you and God hold you in the hollow of His hand".

May you have the anticipation of Christmas
        Which if Faith,
The Joy of Christmas
        Which is Hope,
The fulfillment of Christmas
        Which is Charity,
The blessing of Christmas
        Which is Love,
And above all, the Spirit of Christmas
        Which is Peace.
With Beauceant Love,
Mrs. Jeanette Rife
Supreme Worthy President
